App update delayed

Hello!
Unfortunately, Apple has delayed the approval of the 1.3.1 Update of Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Webcam because there is a bug in the app. Below is a screenshot of the email I received not 30 minutes ago.

Mar 9, 2011 05:26 PM. From Apple.

2.2

We found that your app exhibited one or more bugs, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.

The user is unable to view the oceanfront cam and a black screen is displayed indefinitely. A screenshot of this issue has been attached for your reference.

The steps to reproduce are:

1. Start the application with WiFi and Airplane Mode on.
2. Tap on Load Image button.
3. Black screen is displayed.

For discrete code-level questions, you may wish to consult with Apple Developer Technical Support at <http://developer.apple.com/support/resources/technicalsupport/>. Depending on your questions, be sure to include any symbolicated crash logs, screenshots, or steps to reproduce the issues you’ve encountered.

To appeal this review, please submit a request to the App Review Board at <snip>.

And the screenshot that they provided (with my annotations in RED to reply to them)

Unfortunately, that is what the webcam looks like at night. You can see very faint waves in the background and the light source in the bottom left corner.

I replied to Apple with this:

Hi,
Actually, the image is loading just fine. As you can see in the image, the small light colored pixelation in the bottom left hand corner is actually the image from the webcam, as well as the rest of the image. You are just viewing it when it is dark at its location, thus you can’t see anything but that one light corner. This is not a bug, yet Mother Nature interfering so to speak. For best results, the webcam should be viewed during mid-day, not later at night.

Thanks,
Ross Lindsay

So hopefully the update will be live shortly.

Fixed…again

Today we moved the webcam to a new internet provider, which should hopefully be much more reliable than the last one. However, you may experience a slightly longer delay than before when loading the camera view. This is to be expected. Another update to the app has already been submitted, pending review.

Our apologies!

Outage Fixed!

Hello All and welcome to the new Oceanfront Cam status update page!

After a long and tiresome process, we finally completed our transition to Fiber-Optic internet for the webcam which we thought was completed weeks ago! Long story short, it’s working again. An update for the app will be submitted to Apple shortly so all of you that use the app can still enjoy the webcam. Again, our sincerest apologies for this outage. Enjoy your day!
